Work Package 2 – FUTURE PROOF EDUCATION AND TRAINING

Work Package 2 – FUTURE PROOF EDUCATION AND TRAINING

In brief

The objective of the work package 2 is to enhance the labour mobility across the entire maritime industry with the sea as a driver for sustainable technologies through closing skills gaps. The effect is overall improvement of the employability through development of knowledge, skills and competences within the maritime segment throughout Europe. To achieve this, a toolbox will be made available to European providers of education and training by developing, piloting and delivery a system for educational packages, highlighting the transversal skills, aimed at matching present and future skills gaps to further labour mobility and to consistently meet the needs of the maritime industry. This work package will furthermore set-up a Structural Cooperation between METs Colleges and Universities. Each institution will advocate inclusion of local and regional clusters for synergy and cooperation with local employers etc. Finally, a professional development Guide for Business /Education Partnerships will be designed for educational and inspirational purposes to assist in selecting a feasible approach given a desire for a specific type of outcomes.
