SKILLSEA is a multilateral project, engaging 26 partners from 15 European countries. It brings together social partners, maritime shipping industry, trade unions, research organizations, maritime academies and universities, education and training providers and public authorities. They all have solid expertise and knowledge on the maritime shipping sector, in order to produce a complete and sustainable strategy development cycle from skills needs identification and elicitation (current, medium and long term), design and delivery of VET, to pilot trainings, validation, revision, reapplication as well as stakeholders mobilization and awareness raising as sustainable implementation.

STC Group is a worldwide operating educational and research institution for the shipping, logistics, transport and process industries. In the public domain STC Group offers preparatory vocational education (vmbo), senior secondary vocational education (mbo) and higher professional education (hbo) under the Dutch system. In the private domain it offers accredited master’s-level courses (fulltime and part time), business courses, training and consultancy. STC Group participates in international activities and has offices in the Netherlands and abroad. The organization’s headquarter is located in the mainport Rotterdam.
European Community Shipowners’ Associations (ECSA), Social Partner
The European Community Shipowners’ Associations (ECSA) is the trade association that represents the interests of national shipowners’ associations of the EU Member States and Norway. The European shipowners control 40% of the global commercial fleet, contribute 140 billion to the EU GDP and provide 2.1 million Europeans with careers both onboard and ashore. ECSA’s aim is to promote the interests of European shipping – in all shipping segments - so that the industry can best serve European and international trade in a competitive free business environment to the benefit of shippers and consumers and help formulate EU policy on critical maritime transport-related issues. ECSA is since 1999 recognized European Social Dialogue partner in the Sectoral Social Dialogue Committee for Maritime transport and represents the shipowners’ interests in the dialogue with its counterpart, European Transport Workers’ Federation, ETF.
European Transport Workers Federation (ETF), Social Partner
The European Transport Workers' Federation (ETF) is a pan-European trade union organization which embraces transport trade unions from the European union, the European Economic Area and Central and Eastern European countries. Its principal activity is to represent and defend the interests of transport workers throughout Europe. The ETF represents more than 5 million transport workers from more than 230 transport unions and 42 European countries, in the following sectors: railways, road transport and logistics, maritime transport, inland waterways, civil aviation, ports & docks, tourism and fisheries. The ETF is the recognized Social Partner in the European Social Dialogue and represents the interest of transport workers across Europe vis à vis the European Commission and the Council of Ministers. The ETF will continue the good link established between trade unions and the European Parliament and the Economic and Social Committee and the Committee of the regions.
